Woven By Words Review

If you were to look at my jeans drawer, you would find the color blue. Just blue. All mostly boot cut. Not a single pair skinny. I’ve looked at skinny jeans out of the corner of my eye like, “yea, I don’t think so!”
I think the last time I wore skinny jeans was in the 90s…EARLY 90s at that. I just haven’t been able to put a pair on.
Now, let’s talk about color. I’m not a colored jeans kind of gal. hmmm let me rephrase that. I wasn’t a colored jeans kind of gal. Honestly, I’d never, eh-ver put a pair on. I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. Then I had an opportunity to wear skinny jeans that were colored.
Skinny Jeans
Oh man, I was going out on a limb. I figure, this is the best way to do it! I can review them and if I’m horrified by what I’m testing out, I can tell the company “um, thanks, but no thanks.” What I’ll be telling Skinny Jeans is, “plan on sending me a rainbow of colors.”
HA! My daughters would probably faint if they read those words. They know me. They know the box I live in with my clothes: no patterns, no crazy, bright colors, no frills, etc. The times they are a changin’!
I asked Skinny Jeans to send me a pair of their Team Colors collection and the colors I chose were as “mellow” as possible. hahaha Yea, I went for color, but tried to take the “safest” ones possible. When I got the gold pair in my package I was a little nervous. Also, ordering jeans online makes me worried because most lines of jeans fit completely different so who knows how they work on my body. Plus, I wear “Tall” jeans. Ugh, they are so hard to find.
The telling moment was when I slipped them on. First I my reaction was, “Oh my gosh, they totally fit me!” My second reaction was, “I love these jeans!” hahahaha Totally not the reaction I was expecting from myself.
Skinny Jeans Gold
I was so thrilled that they were long enough to touch the top of my feet. That’s my length test. Not to my ankles, not to where the ankle and foot come together…the TOP of my feet. I prefer them to even fall to my heel. What I didn’t realize when I told them the jeans I wanted was they’re made with Spandex so they really fit your body well!
My next test was going out into public. Being someone who doesn’t step out of her box when it comes to fashion, walking out to the house in gold jeans wasn’t easy. I know that sounds silly, but I don’t like attention focused on me and I thought, holy moly, yellow jeans will definitely draw attention.
Coming out from underneath my rock, I realized, “dude, you’re not the only one wearing colored jeans!” lol Fred and our kids went bowling and I thought it would be a fun way to break them in. When my oldest son and I were getting ready to head out the door, I realized we pretty much matched! I was wearing grey, purple and gold. He was wearing his Vikings football sweatshirt that were exactly the same colors! I couldn’t convince him to wear his Vikings baseball hat.
Team Colors
We got to the bowling alley and aside from a few glances, no one stared an pointed! Go figure! =) I was so comfortable in the jeans I finally forgot about the color and just really enjoyed how they felt and how happy I was to have stepped out of my comfort zone. And I’m not kidding. I already know that I want a pair of their medium red jeans and probably the dark or medium gray. Heck, if they ever want a spokesperson, they can absolutely call me!
Now, speaking of colors, these gold Skinny Jeans are going to work well for sports that I watch. Like I said before, they’re Vikings colored so it’ll go perfect with my Percy Harvin jersey. Fred and his kids love the Steelers, but I can’t ever see myself wearing black and gold. Great guy, but I’m sticking to my Vikings! My girls’ college is purple and gold, but more of a true gold, but I’d wear my jeans and their school shirts in support. I think I may need a pair of purple Team Colors for my Vikings and their college! I’m telling you, a rainbow of colors at my fingertips!
Skinny Jeans Tag
So, they sold me. Not just on their Team Colors line, but I’ve been wanting to try out a couple of their other lines as well. We shall see! The construction of the Skinny Jeans does exactly what they say they will do, they “skinny-fy” your lower half! Let me just say, the jeans put a smile on my face where that’s concerned.
And last but most importantly, these jeans are made in the USA! “These jeans are All American-- the denim is milled in the US and the jeans are cut, sewn and washed in Los Angeles, CA.”
Now, it’s time for you to win a pair of these awesome Team Colors Skinny Jeans!

Finding pants that fit well and look attractive can be a daunting and difficult task for some women. I have short curvy legs. I can usually find pants that are the correct length but they don’t always fit in other places. My Mom, can find jeans that fit but, since she’s taller than average, the pants usually are not long enough. Once I find jeans that “fit”, I usually by multiple pairs in a variety of colors so that I am covered until I find the next perfect pair….typically that is quite a while later.
The smart and innovative designers at SkinnyJeans listened to women talk about their issues with jeans. They created a jean design that addresses those areas of concern for most women. SkinnyJeans are made with improved denim; it has nylon/elastane to give them strength. They have roomy thighs to flatter a variety of shapes. The inseams have been repositioned to give your legs a slimmer appearance. The pockets have been attached to the front seam to create a tummy reducing panel. Faded coloring accentuates and minimizes. The legs have a “barely bootcut” length that elongates your leg. The back pockets have been sized and positioned to reduce and lift the appearance of your bottom. A medium rise and stretchy waist band help cover and contain. My goodness, sounds like the “perfect” jean, right!?
For my review, I received a pair of SkinnyJeans Team Colors jeans in Light Green.
SkinnyJeans Team Colors jeans come in team sports colors. They cover universities and professional USA sports teams. Speaking of the USA, these jeans are 100% made in the USA.

My Light Green jeans are SO soft! These are by far the most comfortable jeans that I currently own and have ever owned. My favorite part is the higher waistband. They fit like a modern attractive Mom jean and by that I mean they flatter and cover! Not all women want their jeans to barely cover their under garments.

My only upset is that my jeans are about 3-4 inches too long for me. I know many people would love to have this extra length. I just need to get them altered and then I will be set.
SkinnyJeans truly are the perfect jean!
SkinnyJeans Team Colors are on facebook and twitter.

Here I am styling in my light green denim with Robert Verdi last week as the P&G Stylemaker event. I’m happy to report that he complimented me on my jeans and liked them! Fun!
Skinny Jeans are made in the USA and truly fit beautifully making you look skinnier than you really are – the denim stretches almost like lycra. Seriously ultra soft super stretch denim that is a pleasure and total comfort to wear. The Team Colors line is awesome with 20 shades to choose from – everything from shades of purple, tangerine, green, gray, blues, and more. Priced at $159 but well worth it in my opinion as these are beyond comfortable and will make you look fabulous.

They do not come in lengths – so since I’m petite I will need to roll these come summer when I pair with strappy sandals but this time of year I’m able to tuck my extra length into my tall boots. Sizing seems very true to size and they give great advice on their website about which size to order based on your body type and if you should go up or down a size depending on your figure or areas of concern.
Now I’m dying to buy another pair in another brilliant shade!
